先日は帯広からいらしていた佐藤さんご家族にデビュー2周年のお祝いをしてもらいました！！
久しぶりに感動と喜びの涙を流しました。(T.T)☆

音楽が大好きな佐藤さんは北海道ホテルで毎年ライブイベントを企画していて、
去年の2月、私を出演させてくれました。

デビュー当時からずっと私を応援してくださっている
こんな佐藤さんがお祝いしたいって言ってくれたことだけで嬉しかったのに
どんどん凄くなっていきました。

表参道にあるCasitaと言う素敵なレストランに連れてってもらい、
着いた途端に案内してくれたスタッフの方が「あ、マヤさんですか？」と。
え？何で私の名前を知っているのー？！って驚きましたが、お店に入ったら謎が解けました。。。

なんと、私の名前が書いてあったいろーんなものをご用意して頂いていたからです！

キャンドルホルダーも私のHPのイメージ！！

メニューからナプキン、シャンパンやお水のボトルにも「MAYA」

お料理もめちゃくちゃ美味しければスタッフも一人一人ご丁寧に挨拶しに来てくださり、お祝いのお言葉まで頂きました。
とっても楽しいディナーが終わってから一端外のベランダに移動し、
お店が風船を用意していたので願い事を込めて空に手放してみましょうと。

世界中の全ての人々が幸せになれること。そして歌で人に幸せを届けられますように〜☆ 。。。と自分の夢を強く意識しながら風船を空へ離しました。

店内へ戻ったら最後にデザートが用意されてました。
このケーキを見た瞬間に涙がポロポロと溢れてきました。(T.T)

こんなスペシャルな気持ちにさせられ、ここまで私を意識してくれたこと、私と私の夢をこんなに大切にしてくれたこと。
全てに感動しました。言葉に表せないほどの感謝と感動。

佐藤さんご家族、本当に有り難うございました！！！！！！！！！！！！！(^o^)☆♪
一生忘れません。

I had one of the most magical experiences of my life the other night. Sato-san & his family from Hokkaido held a Debut 2nd Year Anniversary dinner for me the other night. Sato-san is a lover of music and coordinates annual concerts at the Hokkaido Hotel in Obihiro. Last February, he allowed me to perform there. He’s supported me since my debut but I didn’t realize just how much he cared about me until this evening. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Everything said my name on it. The menu even congratulated me on my 2nd year!!

After a delicious and laughter-filled 5-course dinner, we were asked to step out onto the balcony for a special activity moderated by the restaurant. They gave us all balloons and asked us to make a wish and release the balloon into the sky. After I made my wish of reaching all people with my music & making all people happy, I felt hopeful, uplifted and inspired. We stepped back inside for the last course of the evening– dessert!! :)

Once I laid eyes on this cake, tears started streaming down my face. The cake had candles lit & images of me singing. Even my logo (∞) written in chocolate!! I was so touched. I felt so appreciated, so special. Like I was significant & my dreams were totally attainable. I could feel my dreams coming true…

I am so grateful to Sato-san & his family. What a night to remember… for the rest of my life.
It was such a lesson in reminding people of their worth & making them feel special & acknowledged. That’s what moves people. I hope you know just how special you are. You are irreplaceable & sooo important to this world!!

I am so grateful to each and every person who feels something from my music & has shown me their support. THANK YOU!!!!! I am so inspired to work my hardest to bring out my full potential this upcoming year!! Let’s make it a great year where every person is treasured.

Since Thanksgiving is a day dedicated to sharing one’s appreciation, I would like to share my appreciation for YOU!!

2 years ago, on November 18, 2009, my debut album “My Foolish Heart” was released. Since then, I have been BLESSED to perform all over Japan, star regularly on a famous children’s TV show, feature on albums of artists I admire, sing for a major commercial… just to name a few of the many opportunities I’ve been lucky enough to receive. Thank you thank you THANK YOU to every single person who has touched my life & supported my career thus far. I love you and am truly grateful & blessed to have your support!!!

When’s my next album coming out?? My 2nd album will be released sometime in 2012. I cannot wait to share it with you! My sound & voice & vision — so much has changed for the better. I have grown so much since the recording of my first album in June of 2009, so I think it’s safe to say you can expect a completely new & improved Maya Hatch!! ;)

大震災をきっかけに気づいたこと、そして決めたことを曲にしました。

I am honored to be featured on 2 tracks — “Meant To Be” and “Lost and Found” — both songs are original compositions that Satoshi & I wrote together.

I feel so blessed to be a part of this album. Not only are Satoshi and the rest of the musicians all phenomenal players who are respectively killin in their own right, but the entire album is so versatile and spiritual. It’s completely impossible to categorize its genre because it’s influenced by so many. Genre-less — that’s my favorite genre ;) I hope you guys enjoy this album just as much as I do!

The song “Meant to Be” which ended up becoming the title of the album was inspired by the huge earthquake that we recently experienced here in Japan. Satoshi & I wanted to write a song that gave hope & courage to our fellow Japanese citizens who were living in a state of sorrow, trauma, doubt and fear. Although my home was not destroyed & I was fortunate enough not to lose a loved one, I too was afraid of the radiation, of all the aftershocks, my health and whether I was going to survive. But after worrying myself sick, I finally realized, “What is the point of all this negative thinking? It doesn’t benefit anyone. I can’t change what’s happened and can’t stop what’s to come. Whatever is meant to be will be, so I must let it be. All I can do is believe that everything’s going to be okay. There’s a reason I’m alive. It’s because I’m meant to be. And that truth is what I’m meant to believe. Those who believe in the positive forces of the Universe are definitely protected.”

As my first time commercial recording, this was such an honor and blast!!!
I was asked to write the lyrics as well, so that was an interesting, slightly challenging, but oh so fun process!!

Being the goofy girl that I am, I found the product on sale the other day and had to buy it! I hadn’t used Lux shampoo/conditioner in a while so I forgot what it was like, but I am once again reminded that I LOVE IT!! It really moisturizes your hair and gives dry hair that shine! (For real! I am saddened and shocked to learn about the death of one of my favorite singers. I found Amy on YouTube years ago. Before she blew up, lost control and became buried by negative tabloids. Her voice. It was like nothing I’d ever heard. I was like “YO!! Do you know Amy Winehouse??!!” to all my singer friends at New School. They were like “No, who’s that.” Now everyone and their grandparents know her– not for her talent, but for her addictive behavior. 98% of all the videos and pictures you find of Amy depict her lower self, defeated by her weaknesses and inner-demons… I was so disappointed when I starting seeing her crumble apart. What a waste of talent, of potential, of life… I felt as though she was not only destroying herself, but truly not treasuring her fans, the people. We wanted to love her, support her, hear her and be inspired by her. Instead, we are left with a great loss. Undeniably gifted, Amy you will truly be missed. This is how I choose to remember Amy. The same way I discovered her.

Life is so precious. We must take good care of it while we have it, and make the best of it. We have infinite potential to fulfill every desire in our hearts & infinite power to overcome any problem that we face. All we need to do is BELIEVE. That’s when you are your highest self, when you are the real you.

Yes, yes, I went back yet again to the beloved city that I call home — NEW YORK. After living there for 6 years, it’s a hard place to avoid no matter how much I love Tokyo…

ただいま〜！

NYから帰って来ましたよぉー。
一ヶ月はあっという間に過ぎてっちゃいましたが沢山リラックスとリチャージできて良かったです。　^_^
やっぱNY大好きだな、、、。だから6年間も居られたんだなー。

こんな事をして来ました / Here are some highlights of what I did :

* Saw my family in upstate NY for my little sister’s graduation from SKIDMORE College in Saratoga Springs! So proud of her!!! I love them!!

妹の卒業式を見に行きました。家族に会えて嬉しかった〜！

* Went to the Bronx Zoo and made eye-contact with this big tiger!

有名なブロンクス動物園に初めて行って来ました。

* Checked out my homies show @ Joe’s Pub in NYC. So proud of all my classmates from The New School doing big things in NYC and all over the world. From the left, this is Chris Turner (Vo), Omar Abdulkarim (Tp), Kenneth Whalum III (Ts). They sounded killin’ as always :)

素晴らしい音楽を聴きに行きました。このショーはNew Schoolで仲良かった友達のでした。みんな凄いことをNYだけではなく、世界中でやっています。
いろんな有名人と共演してますが、そろそろ皆もそれぞれ有名になりそうな予感〜！！！

* Hung out @ the studio with my brother from another mother TAKU (aka Takuya Kuroda) and our homies from his sextet during the recording of his 2nd album (FYI- We will all be touring Japan together this summer with shows in Osaka, Nagoya, Shizuoka & Tokyo so make sure to catch us in August!!). Can’t wait for you all to hear their album — it’s amaaazinggg!!!

黒田卓也(tp)のセカンドアルバムのレコーディングセッションにお邪魔させて頂きました！ヤバイアルバムが出来そうですぞ〜！！！
そして、8月に 『Maya Hatch Meets Takuya Kuroda Sextet』 のツアーをするのでその時にアルバムゲットできるよー！
このメンバーで大阪、名古屋、静岡と東京の4ヶ所を回ります。ぜひお楽しみに〜！！！
